Susanna
was among a select group of artists chosen from the world
art community to represent Australia at the 2007 Florence
Biennale in Florence, Italy. The Biennale is one of the
art world’s most prestigious events and participation
is by invitation only. Susanna was selected by an International
Jury, which comprises of distinguished art and museum
curators and contemporary art critics globally. Nominated
works must also meet specific criteria set down by Cultural
Departments formed by art scholars, before the final approval
to exhibit is decided by the Biennale Organising Committee.
The
Biennale Internazionale dell'Arte Contemporanea invites
participating artists from around the world with 840 artists
from 72 nations participating in the 2007 event. Participation
in the Biennale is by nomination only and the artists
are selected based solely on the merit of their works,
with no prejudices as to style, theme or artistic movement.
